Production of organic saffron is a method in agriculture. In this method, no chemical fertilizers are used during implanting and harvesting phases, and saffron is produced without the interference or using pesticides, chemical fertilizers and genetically modified ingredients. Also, in collecting and processing stages of saffron flowers, the remnants of chemicals should not be added to saffron. This is the reason why organic saffron has its special place in the world and the value of foodstuffs resulted from organic cultivation is higher than other products. At present time, in many countries such as Europe Union, United States, Canada, Japan, and in many other countries, the movement is shaped toward consumption of organic products.
